Final days to have say on protecting ‘nurse’ title
Nurses in England have until 11:59pm on Thursday 8 October to have their say on protecting the title ‘nurse’ in law.
Health minister Alison McGovern has urged the profession to make the most of this ‘crucial opportunity’ and inform the government’s call for evidence, which has been open for the last 10 weeks.
Nurse leaders have campaigned for years under the #ProtectNurse movement, and the Royal College of Nursing has stressed that as a highly skilled, safety-critical profession, ‘it is essential to patient safety that [the] title is protected’.
